Wedding Lace

I just finished this custom jewelry for a wedding for the mother of the groom. Her dress is a shimmery metallic gray. This design was created just for her with antique lace background, crushed crystal, swarovski crystals and vintage buttons. The vintage buttons on the bracelet are a smoky gray and resemble bells. The pendant is made from a swarovski crystal cross. All the findings, chains and charm bracelet are made from sterling silver.
I really enjoy making unique, custom pieces, especially when it is sentimental. On the reverse of the bracelet, it has Shakespeare's poem, "Now join your hands, and with your hands your hearts." I also added the wedding date. Truly a custom piece that will have sentimental value that can be handed down.
I'm always available for custom orders and love to work with you to create your own perfect design.

Warm Hugs,
Lori

All for Love...

Yes, it's already time to start thinking about romance and Valentine's Day. I have been working on new designs that are timelessly romantic, but make the perfect gift for Valentine's day too. With names like, "Pink Polka Paris", "Love birds" & "Paris, my Love" you can't go wrong. After all, we celebrate love year round, but pick one day to really relish in it. I would rather wear my romantic jewelry year round too instead of just a few weeks out of the year. Many more designs will follow, but here are the first few.
These will be on sale here through Friday only. "Pink Polka Paris" {reg.32.00} sale 25.00. "Paris Love" (original watercolor){reg.48.00} sale 39.50(SOLD). "Poetic Hearts" (original watercolor) custom order preview only. (email me if you would like to custom order this design also) {reg. 40.00} sale 32.00. "Love Birds" {reg.28.00} on sale for 22.00. These all come on ribbon or ball chain and in a decorative tin.

Valentine's Sale

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments. Love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove:

O no! it is an ever-fixed mark

That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

It is the star to every wandering bark,

Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.

Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle's compass come:

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me proved,

I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

William Shakespeare

Wishing you Love.....

Friday sale!

Here's my Friday flea market item: my newest edition, "croix en crystal." It is a stunning necklace made from swarovski crystal cross and lead-free silver and glass. It has my tumbled rock edge design on all sides. It measures about 1" x 3/4" and is fairly heavy. On the reverse is vintage French. It has a dusting of crushed crystal behind the cross as well as organza ribbon. It ships in a decorative tin. {Retails for $68.00}. Friday only, 50.00 which includes shipping. This is a one-of-a-kind piece and really is far more beautiful in person.

Happy Friday!
Lori

p.s. up next will be the goodies I bought at the Curious Sofa (esp.for you, Sarah!)

If only I lived closer....

I went to see my sister in Kansas City before Christmas and one thing I knew I wanted to do while out there was to go shopping at the Curious Sofa. Well.... we did and let me just say....I love the place!! I about flipped when I walked through the front door. It's just such a combination of everything I love, it almost blows the mind that it exists! I could have stayed there for hours- wait, we did!! Ha! Not really, but we could have. The coolest thing about it was my sisters were with me (so was my daughter and my sweet niece.) It was such a neat place. One pretty neat thing that I bought was a stack of old postmarked envelopes. When I got a chance to look through them later, much to my shock, one of the postmarks was my birthday! Weird! Also, there was a Valentine postmark too. If you ever go to Kansas City a stop here is a must! It won't disappoint. I hear they change it so often that it always has a new look. How I would love to go again around Valentine's Day and see all the vintage romance she probably has.
Hope you enjoy our little tour. (I have permission, by the way.)

Have a happy first week of 2009!

~Highlights of 2008~

I realize I'm late in posting my happy new year, but I am trying to reorganize my website and add lots of new things. I have been pretty busy as this was a crazy year with shows. It was my first time ever doing them and I think I was a little under-prepared for how busy they would be. I have made tons of jewelry that never made it to the blog, let alone the website before they were gone. I will know better next year how to keep both going.
Well, how was your year? Mine was wonderful. I am so blessed to have a great family, church, friends and business. I truly love what I do which makes it all so fun. I thank God for leading me in this direction. He gave me the desire of my heart, which was to have a successful business with something that I absolutely LOVE doing, while being home. Many of you know that I homeschool my 2 boys and this year will be all three of my kids. It is challenging and there are days I feel a complete failure, but I just ask God to help me be the best I can be at everything I do. I am extremely flexible (and a night owl) so that helps!

The highlights of this year for me were getting to go France and England. My husband surprised me by taking me to Paris for my birthday in February. It was wonderful seeing that dream come true! Thank you, sweetie. It was also fun to get some French papers, books etc. to use in my jewelry. Next, was our short trip to Bath, England in Oct. where we went to the Jane Austen Centre. What a great place Bath is! We loved it and can't wait to go back. It inspired me to make Jane Austen Jewelry. I made some for the Centre and we shall see if it will be for sale there in the future. Meanwhile, I'll be adding my Jane Austen jewelry here and the website soon.
Also new this year, my sister's beautiful watercolor art has been added. Her work is amazing and I'll be blogging all her new designs very soon. Tuscan landscapes, roses, sandy beaches, sailboats and more on the way...I'm so glad to work with her. Another dream come true.

I hope you all had a fantastic year and that you will be blessed in 2009. Thank you for being a wonderful part of my life.

Hugs,
Lori
