Pumpkins, Flea markets & Fall leaves

A wonderful flea market display outside the market.
My mom holding a beautiful pomegranate. A mountain road with the leaves changing-my favorite.
What a cute pumpkin in the pumpkin patch.....
I told you before that I had to go up north if I ever wanted to really see the changing leaves. Well, I did and we just got back. It was absolutely wonderful! I'm ready to pack my little duds and move to where the seasons actually change. I loved every minute of it. We got to go antiquing/flea marketing, but the highlight of our trip was getting to go to our family reunion and seeing family that we hadn't seen in years. It was great to visit with everyone.

I'm so ready for the holidays. I can't wait to show you what we have new coming this week!! Talented designer Rebekah Smith will be joining Ellenay Designs for a surprise addition to the website. I'm not saying more than that just yet, but if you haven't signed up for the newsletter, it will be there first. I'll be sending out my November newsletter with all the details. Go to http://www.ellenaydesigns.com/ and click on the newsletter signup box. Let me put it this way- I already have my order in and can't wait to get mine!

Take a walk with me

I don't believe I've seen a prettier day than today. It was absolutely spectacular! I'm so glad that it turned out to be such a perfect day since it was picture day for my kids. My close friend is a wonderful photographer and we chose this particular place for it's classic beauty and charm. The park was built on a round lake that is a natural spring. It's history is a city that came into existance because of the railroad that was built right through it. Old restored victorian mansions line the lake as well as cottages with white picket fences. It's like seeing America over a hundred years ago. It has a library and gardens that were built in the 1800's as well as a gorgeous church. So come take a walk with me and imagine the wind blowing off the lake, the birds singing, and the church bells chiming on the hour......

The library gardens....

The gorgeous Presbyterian Church....

What a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

October Collage

This is a collage of several things in my studio I love looking at for inspiration for fall to create my jewelry. I have my antique books that I couldn't live without, broken vintage jewelry, old letters and photos, toille fabric, dried roses, glass knobs, my cast iron eiffel tower, rhinestones, old game pieces and so much more. Happy Fall!

October Sky

I couldn't help but take a picture of this beautiful October sky. I wish I could say it was brisk and cool, but I can't living in Florida. It is cooler, but we've not exactly made it to fall yet. I love decorating for fall with the fall wreath on the door, mini pumpkins down the table and indian corn arrangements. It's so much fun to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and watch the sunset. I love the crispness of the air. There is so much to love about fall. Enjoy your days of this wonderful autumn season. I know I will just as soon as I get there.

~A sneeze never had it so good~

Introducing the latest addition to Ellenay Designs: vintage fabric tissue holders! These are custom made from vintage fabrics and lace and hold the travel size kleenex tissues for your purse. These will be an added feature throughout the holidays as my free gift to you for any purchase of 50.00 or more from the website. I am so pleased to have them. Becky Smith is the talented designer that creates them. There will be no two alike as we are using found vintage fabrics and accessories. I may offer them for sale also on the website in the future. I have had mine for several months now and I am never without it. It just feels nice to have something so beautiful that is otherwise quite ordinary. You could decide to throw in lipstick or other necessities that fit in nicely. I happen to have a 3 yr. old, so leaving the house without tissues is always a bad idea since they come in handy for those little accidents when you're out and about. These will come with the tissue already included. Enjoy!

A tour of Rose's shop

The kitchen The blue ocean room.
My jewelry case was made for me by my sweet, creative Daddy. We took two old windows (and I mean old!) and put hinges on the back and added a glass knob pull and lock to the front. We sealed the chipping paint and voila~it's absolutely the coolest jewelry case I could ever ask for. What a sweetheart he is. Love you dad! Thanks for always being the big "G." (genius)
Rose in the shop.

I went out to Rose's shop today (Rose's Vintage Cottage) in Bonifay, Fl to restock the jewelry and thought I'd give you a little tour of the shop. It's a really beautiful place that has tons of character and style. Each room is painted a different color in this great old restored farmhouse down to the antique plank floors. Rose is a warm and friendly shop owner who will make you right at home the minute you step through the door. You should stop in if you're ever in the area and say hello.

Vintage steel box pendant

I got these vintage steel trinket boxes from Canada and I fell in love with them. I added the rhinestones and broken jewels to the front as well as the antique papers inside. They would make a cute little trinket box as well as a necklace. I will be getting more of these in to decorate and will add them to the site in the next few weeks. I can customize these with just about anything as well as photos on the inside. Neat!
